The research method was descriptive and correlational. The statistical population of the study was active chess players with international ratings in the country at the championship and university levels, 110 of whom were selected purposefully and conveniently based on the Krejci and Morgan (1970) table. The face and content validity of this questionnaire was reviewed by 10 professors of sports management and sports psychology and approved after the desired amendments were made. To examine the reliability of the questionnaires, 30 questionnaires were distributed in a preliminary study and the reliability of the questionnaires was examined using the Cronbach's alpha test and was finally estimated to be 0.89. In order to examine and analyze the research hypotheses, k-s tests were used to examine the distribution of data, one-sample t-test and independent t-test were used to compare groups. The results of the study showed that the stress level of chess players during the COVID-19 outbreak was low and their motivation level was high, and there was no significant difference between the stress and motivation of chess players who had been vaccinated and those who had not been vaccinated.
