This research was conducted with the aim of identifying and prioritizing the factors affecting the maintenance of sports talents in Sistan and Baluchestan province. The method of conducting this research was a mixed method and a combination of qualitative and quantitative. The participants in the qualitative part consisted of elites and sports practitioners in Sistan and Baluchestan province, which continued using semi-structured interviews with 12 of them until theoretical saturation was reached. Then, a three-stage coding was carried out and 68 codes were categorized into 19 sub-themes and 10 main themes. Based on the qualitative part, a questionnaire was created and distributed among 400 athletes of the province in a two-stage cluster and then random manner, based on which the searched themes were prioritized. Accordingly, the components of economic problems (weight 0.215), managerial weaknesses (weight 0.209), weak facilities (weight 0.170), support for athletes (weight 0.086), weak communication of the provincial media (weight 0.069), pressure of relationships on the rules (weight 0.065), corruption (weight 0.061), political interference (weight 0.050), weak sports of athletes (weight 0.047), problems with contracts (weight 0.028) are the most important components of maintaining and maintaining sports talents in Sistan and Baluchestan province.
